About The Position
Reads consumption on meters and records volume used by customers. Turns water on/off as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
- Ability to read analyze, and interpret reports and manuals.
- Ability to convey thoughts both orally and in written form.
- Must be able to follow simple instructions.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Valid Tennessee Driver License
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience and some computer training is preferred.
- CDL Class A or B Preferred
Responsibilities
- Walks or drives truck over established route and takes reading of meter dials.
- Inspects meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections.
- Indicates irregularities on forms for necessary action by servicing department.
- Verifies readings to locate abnormal consumption and records reasons for fluctuations.
- Turns services on or off as position requires.
- Uploads and downloads data for billing purposes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
