About the position

Exegistics is seeking Quality Control Metallurgy Technicians (MET Techs) to join their team in Cudahy, WI. This role is essential for supplying advanced materials and components used in critical applications such as jet engines and spacecraft. The position involves acquiring training in metallurgical processes and performing quality control tasks to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Learns routine chemical analytical determinations and acid disposal processes according to established procedures.
• Prepares metal specimens for metallographic evaluation by mounting and polishing.
• Sets up and operates testing equipment in accordance with work instructions.
• Uses various measuring devices such as scales, calipers, and micrometers to conduct tests.
• Records data and prepares basic charts and tables dealing with test information under direction.
• Monitors metal removal processes in Acid Etch as required by procedure.
• Provides necessary support to ensure compliance with ISO 9002/AS9100A, Nadcap, and ISO 17025 requirements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of metallurgical processes, testing, and engineering, usually acquired through education or 2-4 years of related experience.
• At least 1 year of quality control experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred Associate degree in Metallurgy.
• Metallographic rating experience.
• Experience working with hazardous materials.
• Experience with hazardous materials testing and mechanical testing - tensile and creep testing.
• Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
