About the position

The Finishing Technician at Buckeye Fabricating Company is responsible for the finishing process of custom steel pressure vessels after construction. This includes pressure testing, cleaning, and preparing shipments. The role requires proficiency with various hand and power tools, and a commitment to quality and safety in the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Pressure Testing: Plug all fittings with threaded or bolt-on components, fill with water, and pressurize to specified levels while inspecting for leaks.
• Surface Preparation and Cleaning: Use sanders, deburring tools, and industrial cleaners to prepare vessels for painting, ensuring surfaces are free from imperfections and contaminants.
• Final Assembly and Shipment Preparation: Assist in the final fitment of components onto vessels, build skids for secure transportation, and load finished products onto trucks for shipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience using pneumatic sanders, grinders, and other deburring equipment
• Ability to prepare surfaces for painting
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Self-managed with excellent time management skills
• Capable of maintaining and troubleshooting tools and equipment

Nice-to-haves
