About The Position

The Metal Fabricator is responsible for fabricating parts according to specification sheets and drawings, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and performing daily safety and operational inspections. This role involves using various tools in the metal department, delivering fabricated parts on time, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Metal Fabricator will also contribute to cross-training and effective communication within the production team.

Requirements

Ability to safely handle all metal parts.
Ability to independently lift and carry 50lbs.
Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment.
High school diploma, GED.
Formal or OJT sheet metal training and certification.

Nice To Haves

Certified on all equipment resident in the metal department.

Responsibilities

Read and follow specification sheets and drawings.
Fabricate parts using appropriate tools in the metal department.
Ensure all parts comply with quality standards.
Operate and maintain equipment in the metal department.
Conduct daily safety and operational inspections on equipment.
Record equipment inspection information.
Alert Supervisor and Lead personnel if equipment is not functioning properly.
Deliver fabricated parts to the assembly line on time, properly marked, and within quality standards.
Use a metal tape measure to verify parts.
Legibly label parts with serial number and product number.
Produce accessory parts, trim pieces, and small assembly parts when directed.
Perform 5S activities throughout the metal department.
Cross-train within other departments.
Communicate effectively with the production team, internal employees, and external individuals.
Contribute to project milestones related to training and development.
