About the position

The Merchandise Processor plays a crucial role in the retail operations of Goodwill Keystone Area by processing donations and ensuring that the sales floor is well-stocked and organized. This position focuses on sorting, pricing, and moving various donated items while adhering to production and quality standards. The role also emphasizes customer service and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process textile donations, including sorting, hanging, pricing, tagging, and moving product to the sales floor.
  • Process donations of housewares, electronics, media, shoes, and other miscellaneous items, including sorting, pricing, tagging, and moving product to the sales floor.
  • Organize, recover, and rotate the sales floor as needed.
  • Follow all quality and production standards as set by Goodwill Keystone Area.
  • Track production daily and report to supervisor.
  • Be knowledgeable of daily, weekly, and monthly production and sales goals.
  • Select and identify appropriate items for the E-Commerce department.
  • Assist and have flexibility in the overall daily operations within the store.
  • Ensure that the store and surrounding premises are kept clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Promote an environment of workplace safety and report safety issues to the Store Manager or Production Supervisor/Manager.
  • Provide quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all customers, donors, and other employees.
  • Support, promote, and participate in organizational programs and special events.
  • Assist in any other assignments designated by management.
  • Adhere to all Goodwill Keystone Area manuals, handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate progress, problems, and concerns to the Store Manager or Production Supervisor/Manager.

  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
