About the position

The Merchandise Manager (MM) at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a high-performing team to drive top-line sales growth while embodying the company's mission, vision, and values. This role involves overseeing store operations, including shipment processes, replenishment, and compliance with operational standards. The MM is expected to promote a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and guest engagement, while also focusing on team development and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed store goals related to sales and guest loyalty.
• Drive company profitability through operational excellence and expense control.
• Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling needs and maximize productivity.
• Review and analyze financial and operational reporting to react timely to store performance.
• Perform makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance guest service experience.
• Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
• Build a highly engaged team through effective collaboration and communication.
• Support associate professional development and training initiatives.
• Model a culture of operational excellence by leading by example and sharing best practices.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• 1-2+ years of fast-paced retail management experience.
• Proven success in driving top-line sales and managing payroll budgets.
• Experience in monitoring inventory levels and achieving operational excellence.
• Ability to attract, develop, and motivate a diverse team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
