Hopkins Lacy, the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) division of Branch Group, is seeking a skilled MEP Superintendent to join our team. The MEP Superintendent plays a crucial role in the overall success of construction projects, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. This position is responsible for scheduling, controlling costs, and managing resources on assigned projects, while also providing continuous hands-on field supervision of all construction operations. The Superintendent's primary goal is to attain or exceed profit goals while promoting workplace safety and meeting or exceeding company expectations. Additionally, the Superintendent is the face of the company on-site, responsible for maintaining a positive company image and leading the project team to operational success. The MEP Superintendent must be thoroughly familiar with all project contract documents, plans, and specifications. They are tasked with ensuring compliance with building codes, local ordinances, and company guidelines. This includes inspecting job sites, documenting preexisting conditions, and ensuring accurate layout of work according to project specifications. The Superintendent is also responsible for maintaining professional relationships with the company owner, project engineer, and all other members of the construction team, ensuring that all parties are informed of changes or concerns in the construction plan. In collaboration with the Project Manager, the Superintendent develops and updates a Grand Plan/Schedule of operation, effectively communicating this plan to employees. They monitor project progress, notify appropriate parties of delays, and document any changes or additional work performed. The Superintendent also participates in the preparation of construction execution plans, progress schedules, and projections of labor and equipment requirements, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources. They supervise subcontractors to ensure quality and adherence to schedule requirements, while practicing good construction and safety techniques throughout the project.
