About the position

Mental Health Technician MHT Compass Intervention Center is a 108 bed inpatient behavioral health facility with numerous outpatient programs which span the entire continuum of care. Compass campus is located in Memphis, TN. Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description.
• Provide care to varied client populations.
• Engage in psychiatric group processes and therapeutic relationships.
• Manage crisis situations with aggressive behaviors.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Participate in training such as Handle with Care and CPR.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; high school diploma required.
• One-year experience working with a psychiatric client population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes and therapeutic relationships.
• Understanding of age-specific growth and development.
• Skills in limit setting and behavior management.

• Knowledge of effective teaching skills and educational strategies with a special education population.
• Individual and group management skills.
