About the position
The part-time Clinical Nursing Faculty position at Chamberlain University involves teaching and mentoring nursing students in clinical settings, specifically focusing on Mental Health/Psych Nursing. The role emphasizes the application of nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient environment, guiding students through their clinical experiences while ensuring adherence to the College's educational philosophy and program outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
- Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
- Evaluates and provides documented feedback to students on their performance based on course objectives.
- Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies and procedures.
- Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base and skill competency.
- Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
- Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
- Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program and campus retention efforts.
- Serves as a professional role model for faculty, staff, and students in professionalism and collaboration.
Requirements
- Earned a Masters of Science (MSN) in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered Nevada RN license.
- BLS Certification is required.
- Minimum of two years experience within the last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
Nice-to-haves
- Teaching experience in nursing education is preferred but not required.
- Experience in mental health nursing is beneficial.
