About The Position

Hennepin County's Human Services Public Health (HSPH) is seeking a Mental Health Crisis Therapist to join the Cope team. This position provides an opportunity to make a difference in diverse communities, enhance clinical skills in a fast-paced, team environment, and be part of a department with the mission to strengthen communities by improving the health of individuals and families. Cope is a 24/7 mobile crisis program that provides crisis services in Hennepin County. Community members call Cope when they or loved ones are having a difficult time managing a crisis and/or are seeking community supports. As a team member, you will make decisions about an individual's safety in real time while assessing their strengths. Instead of managing a caseload, you will be providing clients with reassurance in times of crisis, determining their needs and resources, and safety planning. It takes passion and a willingness to work with people in crisis. This is a full-time, benefit earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee. This position is internally classified as a Social Worker, Senior. This position may have access to systems or other documentation that contains HIPAA data. Invitations to interview will be based upon an assessment of education and experience. Final candidates may be required to complete a drug test that may include testing for cannabis and/or a criminal background check.
