About the position

The Mental Health Care Coordinator at Texas Behavioral Health plays a crucial role in facilitating patient care and communication between patients and providers. This position involves a variety of clinical and administrative tasks aimed at ensuring a seamless experience for patients seeking psychiatric and behavioral health services. The coordinator will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support patient assessments, treatment processes, and care coordination, all while maintaining a high standard of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments including checking vital signs and obtaining consent for procedures.
• Administer injections and treatments under the direction of the supervising provider.
• Complete urinalysis and genetic testing as required.
• Obtain and upload lab results to patient charts for provider access.
• Assist providers with disability and work release paperwork requests.
• Follow emergency protocols and document emergency encounters in patient charts.
• Coordinate messages between patients and providers through EClinicalWorks encounters.
• Schedule patient appointments, including new patient visits and follow-ups.
• Manage prior authorization requests and prescription refills in a timely manner.
• Compile information for patient charts and manage sample medications.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of progressively responsible support services work preferred.
• Knowledge of behavioral health services, treatments, medications, and mental health scales.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must maintain composure in high-stress situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Registered or certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Ongoing CEU credit requirements must be met yearly.
