About the position

The Member Advocate position at Union Health Service is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service to members regarding their benefits plans. The advocate will handle inquiries, assist with appointments, and provide administrative support under the supervision of the Member Service Supervisor. This role is essential in ensuring that members receive accurate information and assistance related to their healthcare needs.

Responsibilities

  • Answer all telephone inquiries and direct calls to appropriate individuals in the organization.
  • Make appointments for all patients.
  • Process referrals for internal and external physicians.
  • Provide information on covered benefits to patients.
  • Fill out Medicare forms and explain benefits to Medicare patients.
  • Apply for medication assistance if available through various programs.
  • Check the status of prescriptions.
  • Call in refills for prescriptions.
  • Track medications when needed.
  • Submit ADAP applications.

Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • One or two years of general clerical experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Bi-lingual with Spanish language proficiency preferred
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Word and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Polish
