About the position
The Medication Technician will be responsible for administering or assisting with the self-administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, in accordance with state regulations and required training. This role involves maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the medication supply room, conducting medication cart audits, and ensuring accurate counts of all medications. The technician will also communicate with pharmacies to coordinate medication delivery, contributing to the overall health and wellness of residents.
Responsibilities
- Administer or assist with self-administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Observe and report responses to medications to the supervisor.
- Ensure the medication supply room is organized and clean.
- Assist with medication cart audits and provide accurate counts of all medications.
- Communicate with pharmacies to coordinate medication delivery.
Requirements
- Completion of required training/certification as a Medication Aide/Tech based on state regulations.
- Ability to observe and report medication responses accurately.
