About the position

The Medication Technician at The Mission at Agua Fria Solterra Team Services LLC is responsible for assisting residents with medication administration while ensuring compliance with medication management policies and procedures. This role involves maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring residents' health, and collaborating with healthcare team members to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with medication administration and ensure compliance with medication management policies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records of medication administration.
  • Document and remove expired or discontinued medications from the cart as required.
  • Review medication sheets for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure medication records are accurate for the shift and that keys are accounted for at all times.
  • Perform housekeeping duties related to resident care, including making beds and cleaning up after incidents.
  • Record residents' medical information and vital signs, observing changes and consulting with healthcare staff as necessary.
  • Monitor and document all aspects of self-administration of medications by residents.
  • Remind and assist residents in taking their medications through various cues and suggestions.
  • Document instances of medication refusal and the reasons for it.
  • Order and reorder medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
  • Partner with pharmacy and families to ensure all medications are available.
  • Participate in resident activities promoting positive health practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including medication carts and rooms.
  • Adhere to hand-washing policies and infection control procedures.
  • Assist in filling out transfer forms and performing documentation duties as required.
  • Participate in state surveys and inspections as requested.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess and evaluate resident care plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year verified experience as a Medication Technician in an Assisted Living community.
  • AZ State Caregiver Certification through Direct Care.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Current Food Handlers Card.
  • Ability to communicate articulately and comprehend written and verbal communications in English.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to function in a high-stress work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong presentation skills and solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Project management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize changing needs.
  • Good observation skills, sound judgment, and discretion.
  • Team player with a positive personality.

Benefits

  • Starting pay of $19.00 per hour.
