About the position
The position involves independently performing laboratory procedures for which the technologist has been trained and demonstrated competency. The technologist will conduct laboratory testing on patients of all ages, utilizing professional knowledge of laboratory procedures to execute, interpret, and analyze results in an accurate and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform laboratory procedures for which trained and competent.
- Conduct laboratory testing on patients of all ages.
- Execute, interpret, and analyze laboratory results accurately and timely.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Sufficient college and/or technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy certification requirements as a medical technologist.
- Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science preferred.
- One year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical setting preferred.
- Competency in areas of the laboratory including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology preferred.
