About the position

The Scribe plays a crucial role in supporting physicians by ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters in the EMR system, assisting with basic patient care and medical procedures, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. This position is essential in facilitating patient flow and providing high-quality customer service in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Responsibilities

• Capturing accurate and detailed documentation of patient encounters into the EMR system.
• Assisting site managers with directing patient flow and inventory management.
• Ensuring compliance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations for site labs.
• Providing customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols.
• Assisting physicians with basic patient care and medical procedures, including phlebotomy and EKG setups.
• Maintaining logbooks and checking for expired medications and supplies in compliance with DOH regulations.
• Escorting patients to exam rooms and other facilities as needed.
• Facilitating necessary diagnostic tests and referrals to specialists for follow-up care.
• Maintaining a clean and professional working environment.
• Ensuring the site is fully stocked with medical supplies.

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED; Undergraduate degree is a plus.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Computer proficiency and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
