About the position

MTPA is rapidly expanding its operations across all functional areas, with a commitment to patients and their communities through a robust late-stage pipeline of investigational treatments for difficult-to-treat diseases. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a vital role by bridging internal strategy with external medical insights, supporting disease awareness activities, participating in scientific exchange, and guiding executive decisions based on valuable information regarding unmet medical needs and current treatment paradigms. The MSL will spend the majority of their time in the field developing and maintaining scientific relationships with Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enduring professional relationships with healthcare practitioners, clinical investigators, and healthcare decision makers within assigned territory.
  • Gather insights regarding unmet medical needs and treatment landscapes in targeted therapeutic areas.
  • Attend and support scientific and medical meetings, disseminating clinical and competitive insights within the organization.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests and provide truthful, non-misleading information regarding MTPA's products.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and standard responses to FAQs.
  • Present information to healthcare professionals who provide peer education.
  • Support Phase 3, Phase 4, and Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISTs) as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant guidance, rules, and regulations in all medical education activities.
  • Support medical initiatives across other therapeutic areas as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from sister and parent companies to support product development activities.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree in Life Sciences: MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), with Pharma experience required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Medical Affairs in Pharmaceutical, Biotech or related scientific medical experience.
  • Knowledge of GCP and experience with clinical trial operations.
  • Experience with customer relationship management is a plus.
  • Proven competence in clinical therapeutics, drug development, business and market knowledge.
  • Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, ACCME, HIPPA and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, networking, verbal, written and presentation.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and virtual platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA/CNS preferred.
  • AMCP dossier and Health Economics and Outcomes Research knowledge and/or experience preferred.
  • Prior launch experience strongly preferred.
