About The Position

Key duties include answering high-volume calls, reducing no-shows via reminders, handling insurance verification, and coordinating referrals to ensure efficient patient flow and administrative accuracy.

Requirements

  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Strong verbal and written skills to deal with patients and medical staff.
  • High attention to detail for managing complex calendars.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, often with 1-2 years of administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments for new and existing patients while managing provider calendars and maximizing efficiency.
  • Responding to high-volume phone calls, emails, and patient portal inquiries professionally.
  • Proactively calling patients for confirmation and utilizing waiting lists to fill appointment gaps.
  • Registering new patients, updating patient demographics, and verifying insurance coverage and eligibility.
  • Processing referrals, orders, and collecting necessary medical records before visits.
  • Informing patients of preparation requirements (e.g., fasting, medical records, co-payments).
