The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and processing patient medical information to ensure the completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation. This position involves assembling medical records, analyzing them for deficiencies, and assigning deficient records to appropriate providers in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. The specialist will also collect, prepare, and scan patient records, prepare and distribute various documents, and retrieve records for chart processing and continuation of care. Additionally, the role includes performing release of information functions while maintaining confidentiality and performing clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, and managing office equipment.
