About the position

The Medical Receptionist/Front Desk role is essential in a Pain Management Practice, focusing on providing excellent patient service by managing appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring smooth office operations. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle various administrative tasks while ensuring patient confidentiality and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and over the phone.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records and accounts.
  • Optimize patient satisfaction and provider time by managing appointment schedules.
  • Notify providers of patient arrivals and service delays to keep appointments on schedule.
  • File and retrieve patient records to ensure availability of treatment information.
  • Maintain patient accounts by recording and updating personal and financial information.
  • Record and collect patient charges and expedite third-party claims.
  • Manage office inventory and equipment by checking stock and placing orders for supplies.
  • Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Follow office policies and procedures and report needed changes.
  • Update and file patient medical records and perform insurance verification.
  • Input information into the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 - 2 years of healthcare experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
