About the position

The Medical Physicist for Radiopharmaceutical Therapies will primarily focus on dosimetry within the Rapid s dosimetry CRO business. This role involves collaboration with medical physics professionals and clients to develop and implement dosimetry procedures for clinical trials involving radiopharmaceuticals. The position requires expertise in quantitative imaging and dosimetry, as well as the ability to analyze data and write reports for consulting contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement protocols for quantitative imaging and dosimetry of radionuclides.
  • Implement procedures for quantitative SPECT reconstruction of therapeutic radionuclides.
  • Analyze calibration and phantom data from sites.
  • Perform dosimetry analysis on patients, including supervising the secure transfer of images, tomographic reconstruction of images, defining contours, quantifying organ or tumor activities, and performing organ or tumor dosimetry as specified in contracts.
  • Write reports for consulting contracts.
  • Perform quality control of reports written by others.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for consulting business and FDA regulations on clinical trials.
  • Test (verification and validation) Rapid s software products, providing feedback to developers and input needed for reports and documents required for FDA approval.
  • Participate in Rapid s research.
  • Publish papers and abstracts on dosimetry methods and results.
  • Help with customer support and demonstrations of Rapid s software products.
  • Occasional travel to clinical sites to supervise calibration experiments may be required.
  • Occasional travel to conferences to represent Rapid.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field, including medical physics, medical dosimetry, or radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry.
  • Knowledge of and experience in quantitative nuclear medicine imaging or radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry.
  • Knowledge of ISO 1415, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 820 is a plus.
  • Experience in clinical research and clinical trials is highly desirable.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Experience with Linux, Python, and 3D imaging software packages (such as 3D Slicer) is a plus.
