About The Position

Beloit Health System is looking to add an MLT to our Team! This position is responsible for the performance and evaluation of various complex chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, immunologic, and immunochemical tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by the physician. The role involves performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of body fluids using manual and automated instrumentation, accurately reporting test results, and effectively recognizing and resolving problems, troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, and using alternative methods when appropriate. The technician will maintain laboratory equipment, perform instrument checks, quality control procedures, calibration, and other maintenance as required. Meeting established turnaround times for routine and STAT tests, organizing and prioritizing work, and accessing/inputting information from the EMR are key aspects of this role. The position may require working extra hours during shortages or until workload is complete, potentially including shifts other than the currently scheduled one. The MLT will also assist in training new employees and utilize sound judgment and medical technology principles when assessing the credibility of generated results.
