About the position

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) position involves performing clinical laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role requires a strong foundation in laboratory science and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. The MLT will be responsible for ensuring accurate test results and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Document and report test results in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science and successful completion of an approved Medical Technology internship program, OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent with an Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited college or university and completion of a clinical laboratory internship preferred.
  • Certified as an MT/MLS or MLT by a recognized certifying agency.
  • State license as a Technologist or Technician.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
