About the position
The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory testing and interpreting results. This role involves quality control, instrument maintenance, regulatory compliance, and training of staff, requiring critical thinking and a high degree of accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory testing and testing interpretation.
- Take responsibility for quality control and instrument maintenance.
- Conduct special studies related to instruments and the department.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in laboratory operations.
- Manage inventory related to laboratory supplies.
- Provide training and competency assessment for assigned staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences or equivalent education.
- National Certification by ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent required within 6 months.
- Experience in quality control.
