About the position

The Medical Equipment Branch Manager at Rotech Healthcare Inc. is responsible for the day-to-day management of company operations, ensuring profitability, controlling assets, and effectively communicating the company's philosophy and objectives to staff and the community. This role involves overseeing various operational aspects, including staff training, inventory management, compliance with regulations, and maintaining key accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and implements all company policies and procedures
  • Calls on key referral sources and maintains key accounts
  • Conducts in-service training for appropriate staff members
  • Conducts physical inventory as required
  • Develops a CSR team to enhance staff telemarketing skills
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid and insurance regulations
  • Develops at least one employee per year who can assume a management role
  • Ensures company standard of inventory level is met
  • Ensures that Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMN) and other documentation required for reimbursement are procured in a timely manner
  • Evaluates each employee annually and establishes goals for upcoming year
  • Initiates appropriate actions on reports and recommendations provided by authorized inspection agencies
  • Interviews and hires staff as needed and approved by senior management
  • Introduces and implements a quality improvement program
  • Maintains a binder in company that contains all newsletters and other policy correspondence
  • Maintains and updates all manuals necessary for company operations
  • Maintains ongoing liaison with company staff, Billing Department, senior management, and/or corporate staff
  • Manages materials procurement and distribution
  • Monitors and controls the company assets
  • Monitors and establishes a positive working relationship with the Billing Department
  • Monitors company operational expenses to comply with established percentage to revenue limits
  • Monitors marketing plan and budget monthly
  • Monitors the A/R aging report to attain A/R goals
  • Participates in regional/local meetings as requested
  • Takes appropriate action to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • May be required to cover on call, drive a company vehicle and make deliveries to patient's homes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Experience with medical equipment preferred
  • Experience with medical billing practices preferred
  • Experience in medical field and administrative record management preferred
  • Four years of related work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to interpret a variety of communications
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Self-motivated, organized, and possess time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
