About the position
Associated Couriers LLC is seeking a dependable and professional independent contractor to serve as a Medical Courier. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of pharmacy medications and medical supplies. The company has over 40 years of experience in the logistics industry, specializing in medical, pharmaceutical, and standard delivery services. As a contractor, you will be responsible for various types of deliveries, including routed deliveries with a set schedule, on-demand pickups, and backup services for route voids. The deliveries will primarily take place in the Chicago land area and surrounding states, and you will be expected to adhere to strict standards of precision and timeliness, reflecting the company's commitment to delivering life-saving therapies and diagnostics. The contractor will earn commissions based on mileage, routes, and stops, with additional variable fuel surcharges in some markets. Payments are processed weekly through a third-party pay administrator. The position requires contractors to be attentive to detail, maintain a professional appearance, and be willing to drive in various weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to complete necessary screenings and training modules. This is a part-time, contract position with flexible hours based on customer needs, particularly from Sunday to Wednesday.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver pharmacy medications and medical supplies.
- Perform routed deliveries with a recurring schedule.
- Handle STAT/On-Demand pickups as dispatched by route managers or customers.
- Serve as a backup for route voids when necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance while on duty.
Requirements
- Must be between 21 and 75 years of age.
- Live within 25 miles of zip code 60007.
- Own a reliable and registered standard car (2009 or newer).
- Maintain state minimum requirements for bodily injury and property damage insurance.
- Complete contractor-qualifying screenings and online delivery preparation modules.
- Have a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations or at-fault accidents in the last three years.
- Possess a smartphone for GPS order tracking and order scanning.
- Supply a cooler with reusable ice-packs for temperature-controlled specimens.
- Willingness to drive in inclement weather.
