About the position
The Medical Assistant position at our growing and fast-paced Cardiology practice involves supporting healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. The role is essential for ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical attention and education while maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care and support in a medical setting
- Perform basic medical procedures and tests under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Assist with patient education and provide information on medications, procedures, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a hospital or medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic life support (BLS) procedures
- Strong customer service skills and ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Proficiency in medical administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Familiarity with performing basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and EKGs
- BLS Certification
