About The Position

Assists Physicians with all patient procedures. Performs EKGs and manual blood pressures. Medication refills and reconciliation. Performs clerical duties as assigned. As a Medical Assistant, you will: Assist Physicians with all patient procedures. Give injections and apply dressings and splints. Collect specimens, run lab tests, and perform EKGs. Conduct drug screen collections, breath alcohols, pulmonary function testing, and audiometric testing. Complete assigned clerical duties to support efficient clinic operations. Float to other PPG clinics as needed during high patient volume or to support coverage. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required) Work Experience: 1 year of clinical work experience (Required) Cardiology clinical experience a plus. Phoebe Putney Health System clinical rotation and/or MA internship experience may be considered in lieu of work experience. Licenses/Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred) Medical Assistant Diploma or Degree (Required) Essential Functions: Treats patients and families with compassion and implements a plan of care. Bases care decisions on an established plan of care. Monitors and documents patient responses. Establishes rapport with patients and adapts communication style to meet individual needs. Recognizes age‑specific responses to treatment and provides effective interventions. Respects patient confidentiality and privacy. Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and their families. Manages difficult or emotional patient situations professionally. Documentation: Documents and submits required information and data in a timely manner. Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, and service offerings. Ensures documentation is tailored to intended users/readers. Uses correct medical terminology. Follows required style and formatting guidelines. Additional Duties: Adheres to hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Performs responsibilities in alignment with Phoebe’s core values, mission, and vision. Completes all job functions as outlined in departmental policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge in assigned areas (self‑education, ongoing educational programs). Attends staff meetings, mandatory in‑services, and completes competency requirements on time. Demonstrates competency in providing care to patients of all ages based on sex, weight, and identified needs. Demonstrates age‑specific customer service skills as required. Requirements
