About the position

This is a Limited Term position for 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months or becoming permanent. The Medical Assistant (MA) will work under the administrative supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse and the clinical supervision of a Physician and Surgeon. The MA will provide support to primary care providers in various clinical settings, perform patient-oriented procedures, support daily clinic operations, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members. The role also involves performing administrative duties and addressing the ongoing needs of patients while promoting efficient use of healthcare resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to primary care providers in various clinical settings.
• Perform patient-oriented procedures under the clinical direction of a provider.
• Support the Primary Care Team for daily clinic operations.
• Communicate effectively with patients and members of the healthcare team.
• Perform administrative duties as required.
• Address ongoing needs of patients and work with healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California to practice as a Medical Assistant.
• Active certification status prior to appointment.
