The Medical Assistant Trainee position at Adventist Health Castle is a full-time role designed for individuals looking to enter the healthcare field. This position involves participating in an 18-week training program that includes educational lectures, hands-on labs, and clinical hours under supervision. Trainees will gain essential skills and knowledge to support healthcare providers and will be eligible to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam upon completion.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in all educational components of the training program.
• Seeks guidance from instructors and preceptors to enhance skills and competencies related to the Medical Assisting role.
• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
• Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs.
• Reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
• Performs venipunctures as ordered.
• Performs audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
