About the position
The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) plays a crucial role in the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team, providing essential patient care and clerical support under the supervision of licensed healthcare practitioners. This position involves direct interaction with patients, assisting them with clinical tasks, and ensuring smooth patient flow within the healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
- Interviewing patients
- Obtaining vital signs
- Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
- Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
- Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
- Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
- Sending and receiving of patient medical records
- Facilitating patient referrals
- Preparing forms for patients
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
