About the position
The Medical Assistant position at Munson Healthcare's PNO Oncology Clinic involves supporting Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities
- Assist Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in clinics and physician offices.
- Prepare patients for visits by collecting medical histories and recording vital signs.
- Assist with medical procedures, including blood draws, vaccinations, and injections.
- Manage patient scheduling, referrals, insurance pre-authorizations, and billing.
- Foster exceptional relationships with patients and their families through kindness and attentive listening.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare or 1 year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support Certification preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a physician practice or similar healthcare provider/patient support setting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCTT, CMAC, etc.) from recognized organizations.
