Medical Assistant - Non-Credentialed

About the position

Empire Family Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Empire, Michigan. As a clinical professional, you will assist Physicians & Advanced Practice Providers in Clinics and Physician Offices. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for visits by collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, prepping for exams, assisting with medical procedures, blood draws, vaccinations, and injections. Additionally, you will assist with patient scheduling, referrals, insurance, pre-authorizations, and billing. This position requires floating to Frankfort Medical Group as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians & Advanced Practice Providers in Clinics and Physician Offices.
• Prepare patients for visits by collecting medical histories and recording vital signs.
• Prep for exams and assist with medical procedures, blood draws, vaccinations, and injections.
• Assist with patient scheduling, referrals, insurance, pre-authorizations, and billing.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization (for credentialed Medical Assistants).
• One year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting, or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare (for non-credentialed Medical Assistants).
• BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
