About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) Supervisor at National Jewish Health is responsible for providing direct operational administrative supervision of assigned clinics and departments. This role involves collaborating with various healthcare professionals to ensure safe and quality patient care, managing staff, and implementing changes to enhance patient care operations. The supervisor will also ensure adequate staffing and compliance with safety regulations while fostering a supportive and educational environment for staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational administrative supervision of assigned clinics and departments.
  • Supervise staff, problem solve, and initiate changes to support patient care operations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical leaders to ensure quality healthcare delivery.
  • Manage and develop effective staff through communication, leadership, and resources.
  • Recruit, interview, select, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Monitor staff safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence in routine assessments and interventions.
  • Teach and guide staff in appropriate patient care interventions.
  • Ensure adequate staffing based on defined criteria and clinical needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and encourage staff contributions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Medical Assistant or Respiratory Therapist.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
