About The Position

ChristianaCare Primary Care at Smyrna is looking for a Medical Assistant I. Primary Care at Smyrna provides extensive medical services designed for families, catering to both children and adults. The dedicated team, consisting of physicians and nurse practitioners, offers a variety of services, including primary medical care, gynecology and women's health, immunizations, physical examinations, preventive medicine, and treatment for acute and chronic conditions. Additionally, the facility features an on-site pharmacy and the Swank Center for Memory Care, enhancing their comprehensive healthcare offerings.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person.
  • Prepares patients for visits.
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs).
  • Assists with exams.
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
  • Handles clerical duties.
  • Troubleshoots video visits.
  • Supports patient portal access.
