About the position

Responsible for negotiating and purchasing advertising space on traditional media platforms. Ensures that media campaigns are well coordinated and complement the strategic objectives of the credit union. Evaluate vendor performance and report results to internal management. Assists in managing the approved and designated media budget for the assigned area/market.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Media Relations manager to develop media campaign strategies aligned with marketing objectives, target demographic and key results objectives of the credit union.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, audience data and competitor activity in designated market areas.
  • Create media buys by analyzing audience demographics, and campaign metrics in designated market areas.
  • Identify most efficient media placement opportunities within designated market areas.
  • Effectively negotiate rates and terms with external media vendors.
  • Evaluate station sponsorship opportunities and packages.
  • Create and transmit insertion orders through media buying software.
  • Coordinate with creative and marketing teams to provide all necessary creative specs and ensure creative assets are delivered on time.
  • Deliver traffic instructions and creative assets to vendors by deadline prior to campaign start.
  • Manage all orders through to completion, including all makegood offers, added value delivery and traffic changes as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage all sponsorship opportunities with external media vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Coordinate with PR team to schedule AFCU representatives for media appearances and interviews as needed.
  • Reconcile monthly market vendor invoices against media buys.
  • Resolve any vendor invoice discrepancies.
  • Submit all market invoices for approval.
  • Quarterly post analysis of all media buys to evaluate vendor performance and delivery.
  • Monthly impression monitoring to ensure on-track delivery.
  • Real-time campaign performance monitoring for CTV and Digital Audio campaigns.
  • Quarterly post-analysis presentation to report outcomes, analysis and trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
  • Understanding of Credit Union Products and Services.
  • Understanding of advertising and media standards in local markets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of media buying process including analysis and negotiation.
  • General understanding of marketing and media campaign strategy.
  • 3+ Years media buying experience.
  • Experience with Freewheel/Strata media buying software preferred.
