Med Tech - HCA/CNA required

About the position

The position involves assisting residents in a healthcare facility with various daily activities and personal care tasks. Responsibilities include identifying residents, administering treatments, serving meals, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The role requires effective communication with nursing personnel and adherence to established policies and procedures. The employee will also be responsible for reporting any changes in residents' conditions, accidents, or incidents, and ensuring the confidentiality of residents' health information.

Responsibilities

• Identify residents before administering treatments and serving meals.
• Record information using authorized abbreviations.
• Report changes in residents' conditions to the Nurse.
• Maintain accurate records on flow sheets, notes, and charts.
• Report accidents and incidents observed during the shift.
• Ensure residents' rooms are ready for receiving them.
• Greet residents and escort them to their rooms.
• Assist residents with packing personal possessions during transfers.
• Transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas.
• Create a warm and calm environment throughout the unit.
• Meet regularly with nursing personnel to identify and correct issues.
• Report complaints and grievances made by residents.
• Assist residents with daily functions such as bathing and dressing.
• Check residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are met.
• Observe and report any signs of skin breakdown or pressure areas.
• Assist with medical tests and examinations as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.

Requirements

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
