About The Position
The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical leader on the unit, overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. This role blends direct patient care with leadership responsibilities to guide and mentor the care team.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Prior acute care experience required
- Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead, support, and collaborate with a team
Nice To Haves
- leadership or charge experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process
- Coordinate and oversee unit workflow, staffing, and patient assignments
- Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff
- Ensure high standards of patient safety, care quality, and compliance
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Support and guide staff in prioritization and clinical decision-making
- Assist with patient and family education and discharge planning
- Monitor patient progress and ensure accurate documentation
