Responsibilities

• Provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks.
• Assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications.
• Inventory management and regulatory compliance.
• Performing duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs.
• Accurately responding to medication dispensing requests.
• Preparing medications for pharmacist final review/check.
• Delivering checked medications and returning unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas.
• Actively participating in outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.

Requirements

• Active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs.
• Knowledge of medication automation, technology, and computer systems.
• Expertise in electronic medical records processing.
• Ability to accurately complete medication inventories and prepare patient-specific medication doses.
• Knowledge of handling and disposing of waste materials, including hazardous waste.
• Knowledge of appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Hazardous Medication Spill Kits.
