Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop project plans, specifications, and timelines.
  • Review project requirements and blueprints to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation.
  • Set up job office and equipment trailers ensuring permits, labor notices, safety rules and regulations, and EEOC material are posted as required.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project team members to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Attend all technical meetings for the purpose of discussing job progress and problem areas when requested.
  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanical technicians, ensuring adherence to project objectives, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Assign tasks, provide clear instructions, and monitor progress to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Address any issues or deviations promptly, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, material records, and change orders.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, reports, and forecasts to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Track project costs, labor hours, and material usage to ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Identify and resolve project-related challenges, such as design conflicts, schedule delays, or equipment malfunctions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of pipefitting experience.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager or similar leadership role within the mechanical construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and equipment installation.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of International Mechanical Code (IMC), OSHA Safety Regulations, and best practices in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with various pipe systems (i.e., PVC, copper, steel) and their respective joining methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve pipefitting issues.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
