About the position

This position involves applying knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to support mechanical engineering projects. The role includes preparing calculations, specifications, and technical reports, conducting equipment sizing and optimization evaluations, and collaborating with project teams on the design and analysis of power plant mechanical systems. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with in-office work required three days a week and potential travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews and construction coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
  • Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection based on project needs.
  • Support project teams with other Mechanical Engineers in system engineering tasks.
  • Design, modify, and analyze power plant mechanical systems.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.

Requirements

  • BSME or MSME from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
  • 2 or more years of experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • 3 or more years of experience in the practical application of mechanical engineering and technology.
  • 3 years of experience in design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans and fabrication drawings.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer in Training.
  • Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Mechanical Engineering calculations.
