About The Position

This position provides support to the Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Quality groups within the plant. The role is project-based and focuses on improving plant yield, productivity, quality, and cost. The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for supporting plant processes for defect prevention and improvements in quality, productivity, yield, and cost reduction. They will provide technical assistance to various departments through analytical troubleshooting, process improvements, cost improvements, and equipment upgrades and installation. This role also supports the purchase, modification, and improvement of standard equipment, provides input in cross-functional teams, and offers design support to more senior engineers. Additionally, the position involves working with plant maintenance to update prints and parts for equipment modifications or obsolete components, and performing other assigned duties and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with design of machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Windows based programs required.
  • The ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams, vendors and management.
  • Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Design Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • 3D CAD experience.
  • Ability to use engineering economic analysis and statistical methods for decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Auto Desk Inventor or Fusion 360 preferred.

Responsibilities
