About The Position

The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for developing and maintaining 3D CAD models, assemblies, parametric designs, and detailed drawings to support standardized, configurable products. This role involves preparing complete engineering documentation packages, including drawings, BOMs, cut sheets, and controlled revisions in accordance with documentation standards. The designer will support new product development and continuous improvement efforts from concept through production release, focusing on reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as engineering, sales, project management, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and field service is essential to meet project deliverables and resolve technical issues. Additionally, the designer will provide technical support to production and procurement, including vendor data review, material and component selection, evaluation of alternatives, and approval of technical submittals. Participation in engineering activities like design reviews, risk assessments, prototype evaluations, testing, inspections, audits, and certification processes is required to ensure code and standards compliance. The role also contributes to the development and improvement of engineering standards, CAD practices, tools, templates, and workflows. Staying current with industry trends, technologies, and code requirements is also a key aspect of this position. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor) or equivalent design tools.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks PDM.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, design principles, and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with CNC equipment and programming.
  • Demonstrated experience with steel fabrication and sheet metal design.
  • Working knowledge of welding practices, codes, and fabrication standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in engineering technology.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP).
