About the position

The Mechanical Designer II position at Systems, LLC involves creating and revising advanced models and assemblies using 3D CAD software, updating production drawings, and utilizing the company's ERP system to process complex customer orders. The role requires collaboration with various departments to support production and continuous improvement initiatives, while also mentoring entry-level designers.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise advanced models and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
  • Update production drawings in response to engineering design changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize and update data within the company's ERP to process complex special customer orders and release work orders.
  • Develop an advanced understanding of engineering workflows to support production and other departments.
  • Create complex engineering change notices (ECNs) and process them as required.
  • Create and revise advanced sales/submittal drawings to satisfy customer requests.
  • Distribute and update drawing binders, work instructions, quality alerts, and safety alerts to production.
  • Implement design and process improvement projects while tracking and reporting progress.
  • Mentor and assist in the training of entry-level drafters or designers.
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance across teams.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, both 2D and 3D.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.
  • General knowledge of ERP/MRP software.
