About the position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our client's engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings and designs using 3D CAD modeling software, contributing to the development of mechanical systems and ensuring design integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare detailed mechanical drawings and specifications using CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure accuracy in designs.
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess design integrity and performance.
• Assist in the assembly of mechanical systems, ensuring all components fit together as intended.
• Create system design layouts that meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback from engineering teams or clients.
• Maintain organized documentation of all drafts, revisions, and project changes using Bluebeam for collaboration.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.
• Familiarity with GD&T standards is essential.
• Experience with FEA tools is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to assemble mechanical components and systems effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• An associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred, along with relevant drafting experience.
