About the position

The position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and proper operation of all hospital mechanical equipment. This includes a variety of equipment such as compressors, pumps, boilers, plumbing systems, doors and locks, sterilizers, and some minor electrical work. The role also involves assisting the master plumber with in-house plumbing projects.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions clearly and quickly regarding maintenance and repairs.
• Withstand many hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and moving equipment.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and good eye-to-hand coordination with adequate vision.
• Understand, read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Work effectively as a team member with peers and other departments.
• Cope with agitated, hostile customers and respond calmly to their needs.
• Perform analytical diagnosis on malfunctioning equipment.
• Conduct mechanical repairs in a workmanship manner using correct tools and procedures.
• Perform planned maintenance on all mechanical equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Two years of general experience in maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Vocational school preferred
• Five years of general maintenance experience.
