Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on dump trucks and pickup trucks, including inspections, tire rotation, and oil changes.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner both in the shop and on job sites.
• Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop.
• Direct, supervise, and collaborate with other mechanics to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
• Ensure safety standards are being met.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs performed.
• Provide instruction on correct maintenance and preventative measures on machines to vehicle users.
• Undertake other duties as assigned, such as painting equipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic - at least 3 years.
• Excellent knowledge of machinery and corresponding systems.
• Excellent aptitude in using various tools.
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
• Very good physical dexterity, strength, and stamina; ability to lift up to 150 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a current driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus.
