About The Position

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Meat Department Customer Service Associate to join our family-owned Italian grocery. This position is responsible for assisting customers, maintaining attractive and well-stocked meat displays, packaging products, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized department. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and is committed to providing excellent service in a fast-paced retail environment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous retail, grocery, food service, or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and weighing skills
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a meat department or grocery store
• Knowledge of different cuts of meat and food handling procedures
• Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with product selection, special requests, and questions
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meat products, preparation, and cooking methods
• Package, label, weigh, and stock meat products accurately
• Maintain clean and organized displays, counters, and work areas
• Monitor product freshness and rotate inventory according to company standards
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Operate scales, slicers, wrapping equipment, and other department tools safely
• Assist with unloading deliveries and stocking inventory
• Handle customer concerns professionally and courteously
• Work collaboratively with team members and management to maintain department efficiency
