About the position

As a Meat Cutter at Joe V's Smart Shop, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality meat products to customers while ensuring excellent customer service. This position involves cutting, preparing, and merchandising fresh meat products, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and working closely with a Meat Cutter I. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, trims, trays, and scrapes meat for display according to company standards.
• Fills products such as chickens, chubs, and seasoned meats as needed.
• Operates equipment including grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, and slicer.
• Weighs, wraps, and labels product packages for sale.
• Rotates product in the meat cooler and sales floor, ensuring proper storage practices.
• Communicates consistently to meet quality and freshness standards.
• Practices safety awareness while performing meat cutting duties.
• Cleans and sanitizes display cases and maintains equipment.
• Answers customer questions regarding products and assists with selections.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience in customer service.
• Completion of required job skills and compliance-related training.
• Working knowledge of meat cutting training aids and SOPs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks.
