About the position

The Meat Associate position at Dierbergs Markets involves working as part of a team to provide quality meat products in a retail environment. Responsibilities

• Stock and handle food products while ensuring cleanliness.
• Represent quality meat products with expertise and enthusiasm.
• Learn about meat products and communicate knowledge to customers.
• Promote products using suggestive selling techniques.
• Use and clean equipment such as grinders, cubing machines, and slicers.
• Ensure meat cases are well-stocked and visually appealing.
• Process customer orders accurately and clarify any questions.
• Weigh, wrap, and label merchandise appropriately.
• Examine, stock, and rotate meats according to sell-by dates.
• Break down loads and transfer products to carts.
• Cut, trim, and weigh meats for production and customer requests.
• Maintain a sanitary work area using approved cleaners and equipment.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to follow safety and food-handling guidelines.
• Basic computer and math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversions, and percentages.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance based on schedule.
• Adherence to dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Hepatitis A vaccination (specific to Missouri).
